Get Your Grown - ups Gardening Day : 23rd Sept. 2010 Dreadful Day, Fabulous Folks!!
All parents and carers of pupils at the school were invited to take part in the above event - and a tree-mendous 28 turned up on one of the worst days of the year so far! In spite of the driving rain our brave volunteers set about the twelve tasks with gusto, getting soaked and very dirty on the way (Probably the best part!)
Our heroes and heroines continued the good work into the afternoon having been revived by a delicious, nutritious soup and sandwiches lunch provided by our resident cook, Linda. Linda also gave a demonstration on how to cook her delicious vegetable soup followed by a sampling of it. And it was great! There were stalls set out in the hall selling Fairtrade food and gifts, Nappy Cakes, "baby stuff", jewellery and hyacinth pots prepared and decorated by Mrs Morton's P4 pupils. Many thanks to all who supported us by buying from the stalls.
Mr Pisaneschi would like to thank everyone, and particularly those hardy souls who came along to help, you were magnificent! Your help is truly appreciated. Your children and the whole school population shall benefit from your hard work for years to come.
p.s. We have many projects planned and any and all help would be warmly welcomed, no previous experience required! Contact Mr Pisaneschi if you can spare a little of your precious time.
